Getting to the Stadio Olimpico from the centre of Rome is fairly easy. Here's the most straightforward route: From the Metro stop Flaminio (Line A), take the tram number 2 right to the
end of its route in Piazza Mancini (takes about ten minutes). When you exit the ticket barriers at Flaminio
Station, take the exit to your right - it's labelled 'Tram per lo Stadio Olimpico'.
There are always extra trams laid on for match days, so there's never a long wait.

When you get off the tram, head (with the crowds) across the tarmac bus stops, heading for the left corner. Keep the fountains on your left and walk up to the river. Cross the busy riverside road
and right ahead you'll see the stadium. Cross the bridge, pass Mussolini's obelisk and a strange sunken football sculpture and there you are...
When leaving the stadium follow the same route (watch out for excited scooter riders after a victory). Catch the tram at the same stop where you alighted. Once again there will be plenty of trams. The Metro runs until 12:30 on a Saturday and 11:30 on a Sunday, so you've plenty of time to get home.
