Stadio Olimpico

Geography

The Curva Nord is where the hardcore Lazio fans, the Ultras sit. Best to avoid, unless you're really desperate for some Atmosphere, racist chants and all.

The Curva Sud is altogether more peaceful, while being equally cheap. Note, however, that you'll be quite close to the away fans.

The Tribuna Tevere and the Tribuna Monte Mario (where press and VIPs sit) both have the best views of the pitch, (and nicer toilets too) and are consequently rather more expensive.

The Distinti are the corners of the stadium. Away fans are in the Distinti Sud. If you want to save money and experience the vibrancy of being among frantic chanting fans without the extreme lunatic element, the Distinti Nord or Ovest are good places to be. They're not much more expensive than the Curva, and fans take their children there.

2003-2004: Note that this season, the Distinti have been combined with the Curve for ticket purposes. The whole northern end is now season ticket only for Serie A games, thanks to our increased number of abbonati, season ticket holders.

Seating

All seating is (theoretically) numbered. Your ticket contains a gate number, which tells you where to enter the stadium. Then you need to find your sector (settore, a letter), your row (fila) and your seat (posto).

It can be hard to locate your seat (and even harder to locate a steward). There's often room to sit where you want. But you may find (especially before big matches and in crowded areas) that the normally casual fans will suddenly start insisting on their places. Many season ticket holders will expect you to move if you're in their seat (or their friend's). So to avoid problems, it could be best to get there early and endeavour to park yourself in your proper home.

If you can't find where to go, ask someone who looks like a local fan. Show them your ticket, or ask if you have the right sector: "E' settore A(ah)? B(bee)? C?(chee)" etc. Sometimes the seat numbers are rubbed off, try counting along a row or asking neighbours.

On this ticket, the stadium entry point is gate 29 (for the Tribuna Tevere). The sector is C. Once through the gates, follow the signs to this area. Then the row number (indicated on the steps between seating) is 33 and the seat is number 18.
